Nordic Beer Tasting at the 36th Annual Scandinavian Day Festival

scandinavian-day-square

Join me on Sunday, September 13 at Vasa Park in South Elgin for a Nordic beer tasting during the 36th Annual Scandinavian Day Festival!

We’ll talk a little bit about the history of Nordic beer (starting with the Vikings, natch) and what’s brewing over in Northern Europe today. Of course, it wouldn’t be fun to talk beer without tasting it! So, we’ll be tasting beers from each of the Nordic countries: Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Iceland!

There will be two 45-minute tasting sessions:
12:45pm and 2pm

You’ll be able to purchase tickets for the beer tasting at the festival entrance. Tickets are $15. You’ll get a custom souvenir tasting glass, tastes of five Nordic beers, and a full pour of one of your favorites. There will be other goodies, too! (Space limited to 25 people per session.)

Beer tasting includes:

Denmark:
Evil Twin Bikini Beer – Pale Ale, 2.7% ABV

Iceland:
Einstök Icelandic White Ale – Witbier, 5.2% ABV

Sweden:
Carnegie [Stark] Porter – Baltic Porter, 5.5% ABV

Finland:
Sinebrychoff Porter – Baltic Porter, 7.2% ABV

Norway:
Nøgne Ø – Imperial Rye Porter, 9% ABV

There will be other Nordic beers to enjoy at our bar as well!
